Without question, this is one of the most popular 5.56x45 range loads in the United States of America. It’s backed by Winchester’s generations of legendary excellence. It’s ready for action in any 5.56 firearm. And when you order a case, you get two tidy 500-round boxes: one for now, and one for later.

This cartridge’s 55 grain full metal jacket bullet is normal as normal can be. Lead core. Copper-alloy jacket. No steel. No ability to attract a magnet. The FMJ can fragment at higher velocities, but it will not produce terminal expansion. Its jacket has a cannelure to prevent setback under recoil. And once the FMJ reaches its posted muzzle velocity of 3,180 fps (which Winchester recorded with the aid of a 20” barrel), it will carry around 950 ft lbs of kinetic energy to 100 yards and then drop by about 3” once it reaches another 100 yards downrange.

This noncorrosive Boxer-primed ammo features new military-grade brass cases. They weren’t polished at the factory, although that has zero effect on their overall performance. Relodable, but you will have to deal with crimped primers.
