IMI’s main job is supplying the materiel that Israel needs for its various Israel-preserving endeavors. But IMI also exports a fair bit of their ammunition to America, where it is useful for exercising our God-given Second Amendment rights.

This is IMI’s 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition. It is M193 spec, which throws many novice shooters off. “M193” is simply the U.S. government’s designation for its standard 5.56x45 55 grain lead core, copper jacketed projectile ammunition. It is the most basic type of ammo a 5.56 firearm can fire, which makes it optimal for any kind of target shooting you’ve got planned for your AR-pattern rifle.

The bullet’s jacket has a cannelure, which simply serves to prevent recoil from shifting the bullet out of its factory seating depth. Neither the bullet’s core nor jacket contain steel, which makes this ammo suitable for training at all commercial ranges.

This round has two hallmarks of military-grade ammo. Its noncorrosive Boxer primer is sealed for greater protection against moisture. Its brass case is also visibly annealed. To be certain, all brass cases are annealed at their factories – this ammo’s cases are still gray around their necks because they weren’t subsequently polished. The discoloration is purely cosmetic; the cases are brand new and reloadable.
