A: Our apologies for taking so long to answer your question! Normally, our goal is to get our customers' ammo into the mail the same day or at least the day after it is ordered. During to recent events we have been doing our best to mail orders as quickly as possible.

A: Sorry for the late response! We do not match other retailers’ prices. If they can outprice us then there’s the power of the free market at work. (You’ll never meet lovelier people than those of us that work at Lucky Gunner, though.) As to your other point, it is entirely possible that an indoor range might ban 62 grain M855 “penetrator” rounds, which could destroy their backstop. We are not aware of any Federal product with a 64 grain steel tipped bullet, although they have offered 64 grain XM856 “tracer” rounds before -- another thing indoor ranges would hate. We hope that’s helpful!

A: Hi God. After much reflection as well as Deep Thought, I have come to realize that the meaning of life, is 42. Having taken over 7.5 million years to determine this, I must confess that I am somewhat disappointed that you didn't already know this. But I'm here to answer questions, not pass judgement. PS...still waiting on the pony I wanted when I was 7.

A: Hi Ivan. On that particular item, we only have the cases of 500 available. You can always order multiple cases to get the quantity you want. Just let me know if we can get some of this Federal 5.56 on the way to you today! Have a great day.

A: Hi Gary. Great question! The Federal ammo you are looking at is sold primarily for range use. As such, the ammo is minimally inspected at the factory and the focus is on production volume. Rounds that are purchased for sheer accuracy and defensive/duty purposes use higher quality (read, "cost") components from the casing to the propellant. Each step of the manufacturing process is closely monitored with a much higher percentage of rounds checked for quality. The higher cost of all components and of inspections do cost significantly more per round, but many times the cost of a low performing round is MUCH higher than missing your paper target.

A: Hi Robert. Since this is contract over-run ammo, it may or may not be sealed depending on the contract stipulations for which the lot was created. It will, however, meet the specifications for leakage set forth in the NATO specs for 5.56x45 ammo.

A: Hi Geary. In most states we can ship directly to our customers. New York is the only exception at this time. NY customer must ship to an FFL. There may be other restrictions and if so, you will be made aware of them when you place your order. You can always give our CET members a call and we can make sure you are squared away!

A: Hello Richard,
This ammunition is loaded with a copper jacketed, lead core projectile. The round contains no steel and you should have no issues at an indoor range.

A: Hello Justin,
These 55gr. FMJ XM193 rounds by Federal in 5.56 have a muzzle velocity of 3165 fps. They make excellent target rounds for your 5.56 firearm.

A: The discoloration shown on the case neck is from the heat treatment the brass has received prior to loading. This is a normal part of the manufacturing process; some manufacturers will polish this staining away while others will leave it alone. The brass is new and boxer primed which will work well for the reloading process. If the spent brass is polished with a tumbling media and an additive, the discoloration will be removed.
