This cartridge’s enormous bullet is designed for one goal and one goal only: the deepest penetration possible. The DGS consists of a dense, high-antimony lead core and a solid steel jacket (which is clad in copper). The DGS’s flat nose minimizes the risk of deflection when it strikes dense bone, which does even more to help the bullet hold its course toward a large animal’s vital organs. There is zero terminal expansion that could lead to insufficient penetration on safari-sized quarries.
