Hornady makes their Handgun Hunter line of ammunition specifically for cats like you. This 454 Casull cartridge will topple pretty much any North American game thanks it its incredibly powerful 200 grain bullet, which achieves a 1,950 fps muzzle velocity out of an 8” barrel to inflict over 1,000 ft lbs of energy at 100 yards.
A handgun hunter doesn’t hunt with just any old bullet. This is Hornady’s MonoFlex, which is made out of copper alloy for cleaner shooting and compliance with certain places’ inconvenient laws. The MonoFlex’s rugged composition means it can’t really fracture apart, so it retains at least 95 percent of its weight as it burrows deeper and deeper through bone and tissue.
The MonoFlex’s nose cavity is filled elastomer, a rubbery material that compresses on impact and pushes outward. Alongside the notches machined around its rim, its elastomer filling helps the MonoFlex to expand reliably and uniformly to guarantee a fast, clean kill.
Hornady gives handgun hunters their best components: fresh brass, sensitive primers, and clean burning propellant. Loaded according to the tightest specs in Nebraska, you’d be hard-pressed to do much better by your powerful revolver.
