Go ahead: spoil your favorite 45 Colt revolver or lever gun with a box of Underwood’s best. This American-made ammo would make a marvelous choice for serious precision shooting, and it can hold its own against medium game as well!
This cartridge is loaded with a Keith-style semi-wadcutter. Its flat nose will print a clean hole through a paper target – or stamp a deep, injurious hole into a quarry. Whichever application you choose this ammo for, you’ll appreciate Underwood’s Black Cherry polymer coating. It’s the reason why the SWC avoids gas cutting, reduces abrasion on the barrel, and virtually eliminates lead fouling (without giving off a burning plastic smell in the process). The “GC” in the bullet’s name stands for gas check. Its a supple metal disc at the base of the bullet, where it prevents propellant gasses from escaping around the sides.
Are you choosing this ammo for defense against black bears? Good! You can take peace of mind from Underwood’s flash-suppressed powder, which minimizes muzzle flash so as to preserve the shooter’s night vision. Nickel-plated brass cases extract efficiently and resist corrosion out in the field.
