A lot of folks get their noses bent out of shape when we refer to 45 Colt as “45 Long Colt.” And we get it. We’re sticklers for correct nomenclature, too, but we just want to make sure no one mistakes this ammo for 45 ACP. 45 Long Colt is what you want for an SAA, Judge or Governor – not a semi-auto!

Ammo Inc. of Arizona loads a real clean-shooting cartridge. They call this round’s 250 grain nonmagnetic bullet a “full metal case,” which is just another term for the bullet more commonly known as a “total metal jacket.” Whereas your standard full metal jacket has a partial jacket which leaves its lead core exposed to hot propellant gasses, the TMJ’s jacket covers its lead core completely. That’s why this ammo’s bullets won’t deposit lead residue on your pistol’s rifling or produce aerosolized lead for you to inhale.

Ammo Inc. provides even cleaner performance in the form of their Hyperclean Technology. It promotes fuller combustion of the propellant, which has the effect of further reducing barrel fouling. Noncorrosive Boxer primers and reloadable brass cases complete the cartridges!

A: Hello! The TMJ has the same kind of terminal ballistics as the FMJ: specifically, zero significant terminal expansion. That said, it's still a .45 Colt bullet, and it is capable of dropping game so long as you fire within a practical range and exercise good marksmanship.
