Shooting ranges and areas that were previously off limits to tracer ammunition because of the potential fire hazard are now accessible with Streak Red ammo. This 45 ACP ammo has a glowing red dot attached to the base of the 230 grain total metal jacket (TMJ) bullet that does not produce heat. This technology is changing the game as far as tracer ammo is concerned.

When you fire a 45 ACP Streak Red round, a red glow illuminates the projectile as it exits the muzzle at 925 fps until it strikes its target. The high visibility of this 45 ACP ammo will help improve your marksmanship on the range.

These cartridges are equipped with Boxer-primed brass casings and clean-burning powders. The casings are new-production, non-corrosive, and reloadable.

Q: Will these stop an intruder in a self defense situation, if it was all you had with you?

A: Thanks for reaching out Mark! I always advise my customers that JHP ammo is preferable for self-defense, even when we haven't got it in stock. That said, this ammo is completely capable of efficiently neutralizing a threat. This is more or less the same exact type of ammo the U.S. Army would have issued for use with the M1911 – the Army complies with an international moratorium on expanding bullets for warfare, so 230 grain FMJ bullets are standard (TMJ bullets perform identically to FMJ). I personally own a derringer which is only designed to safely fire 45 ACP ammo like this. I keep it loaded in my nightstand. This is quite literally a type of ammo I have chosen to trust my life to.
