This round’s 230 grain JHP and 830 fps muzzle velocity both hit the mark as far as classic 45 ACP handguns are concerned, and newer models love those specs as well. The V-Crown features a unique hollow point nose cavity, with cuts extending deep into its alloyed lead core to promote more consistent expansion at lower velocities. The V-Crown’s jacket is also skived to facilitate low-velocity expansion, and its toothed cannelure embeds the bullet’s jacket into its core to promote the high degree of weight retention that deep penetration requires.

This new Boxer-primed ammo is loaded with low-flash propellant. It emits less light on ignition, which can keep your eyes adjusted to low light even after you’ve fired the first shot. Nickel-plated brass cases are low-friction and smooth-feeding, not to mention resistant to the kind of corrosion that can lead to feeding and extraction jams.
