You don’t have to be wealthy to go shooting as often as you please! A manufacturer like Hotshot lets you take full advantage of the cost-saving benefits of steel, so you can plink and train all you like – and keep your wallet fat throughout it all.

This 45 ACP cartridge has a steel shell casing. Steel, as you’re probably well aware, costs a lot less to produce than copper-filled brass. You’ll notice that steel does shoot dirtier, which is nothing that Hoppe’s can’t take care of. Steel is also not suitable for reloading, but as the vast majority of shooters don’t reload anyway that’s not a tremendous setback! We like how easy steel casings make cleanup after a backyard shooting session. Just let a magnet do all the work.

This round’s Berdan primer functions slightly differently than the more common Boxer variety. You won’t notice any difference in performance, however, and Hotshot’s non-corrosive primer won’t forfeit your pistol to rust. Berdan primers are slightly more economical as well, another contributing factor to this ammo’s great price.

This cartridge features a classic 230 grain FMJ bullet. The bullet itself contains steel as well, so it’s unwelcome at ranges that ban magnetic projectiles. Hotshot’s simple bullet is designed to feed easily in a semi-auto and then cover the distance from muzzle to target reliably. For everyday training where no one’s life is at risk, an FMJ is always the way to go!
