A: Thanks for reaching out Steve! I can't say for certain based on what you've told me. Handguns Magazine puts it this way: "All modern 1911s in proper working order will safely handle +P pressures. The concern is the increased slide velocity produced by the hotter ammo, which affects the functional reliability of the handgun. These short-barreled variants of the 1911 are sometimes finicky, and a recoil spring tensioned for a particular power level of ammo helps to ensure complete reliability. Loads beyond this power level are not only more prone to jam, the added recoil causes more stress on the frame."

A: Thanks for reaching out Charles! Overpressure vs. standard pressure ammo is pretty simple. An overpressure (aka +P) cartridge exhibits a flatter bullet trajectory and strikes the target harder. As a tradeoff, an overpressure round also generates more recoil energy and accelerates wear and tear on the barrel and moving parts.

A: No sir, we don't have a system in place to alert our customers when ammo is back in stock. We do update our inventory frequently, so I hope you'll check back in again soon to see what we can do for you!

A: Hi Nino,
The Federal HST is considered to be one of the best options for self defense in the ammo industry. For specific exclusions for your specific firearm, please consult your owner's manual (especially restrictions on use of +p ammunition.)
