Can I fire this round in/from a 1966 Colt National Match without issue? If so, what type of magazine should I use? Hi Jackson!  Thanks for reaching out to us at LuckyGunner.com.  Congrats on having one of the finest 1911 pistols ever made.  Yours was from a time when all manufacturers focused on quality rather than market. I believe that the 1911s in general perform best with a defense round that most closely matches the 230 grain FMJ round in design.  While there are different rounds that different pistols like, the Speer Gold Dot is unmatched in both reliability and actual performance on the street. The magazines that come with your NM should be just fine provided that they are undamaged.  If you do need a new mag, I can readily recommend the Chip McCormick. Power Mag.
