This is not self-defense ammunition for human threats. This is the 44 Special ammo you can depend on if a boar or black bear ever decides to tangle with the wrong hombre – you.

This cartridge is loaded with a 240 grain hard cast semi-wadcutter projectile. The bullet will not expand if it hits soft tissue, which means it will create a narrower wound channel than a JHP and almost certainly pass clean through a human-sized target, thus creating greater potential danger for innocent bystanders. The hard cast bullet is significantly harder than a standard lead projectile, and accordingly avoids deformation that could have limited its penetration depth – a great advantage to have if you ever square off against a thick-skinned hog or tough black bear (for brown bear you’d really be better off with a lot more gun than a 44 Spl). The semi-wadcutter’s broad, cylindrical profile still manages to create quite the injurious wound channel without mushrooming outward.

This round’s Keith-style hard cast SWC is loaded to a standard chamber pressure and is safe to fire in all 44 Special and 44 Magnum revolvers. Doubletap measured its 920 fps muzzle velocity with a 6.5” barrel. If you have a Ruger Alaskan or other 2.5” barrel revolver, you can expect an 800 fps muzzle velocity and 341 ft lbs muzzle energy.
