A: Thanks for reaching out Ken! I'd highly recommend this ammo for home defense with any 410 Bore shotgun. One polymer tipped lead slug and two .35 cal lead shot pellets (which are wider than 00 buck pellets by 0.02") make this shell a formidable solution for self-defense. A shell that's only loaded with buckshot would give you a denser pattern – i.e. one with more projectiles – but I'd still personally prefer the ammo you've inquired about.

A: Hello again Brown Dog! Like I thought, Hornady recorded this shell's muzzle velocity with a 2.5" barrel.

A: Thanks for reaching out Cameron! The Axe .410 is indeed a smoothbore firearm, and I see no reason why this round's .41 cal slug and .35 cal lead pellets should fail to perform correctly in it. I'll shoot a quick note to Henry for confirmation just to be sure, as I've not personally tested this ammo in an Axe. I'll get back to you as soon as I hear back from them.

A: Thanks for reaching out! While your Governor is capable of firing slugs, you may not find it especially accurate with them. That's a heavy projectile for a 2.75" barrel to stabilize.
Your revolver can fire 410 Bore, 45 ACP, and 45 Long Colt. I'm afraid we haven't got any 410 Bore in stock at the moment outside of shot suited for small birds and clay targets. When you can find it I'd recommend some 00 buck shotshells for home defense.
For 45 ACP, I'd highly recommend Federal's HST ammo that's optimized for law enforcement: luckygunner.com/45-acp-230-gr-jhp-hst-federal-law-enforcement-50-rounds. Speer's TMJ ammo will prove excellent for target practice: luckygunner.com/45-acp-230-grain-tmj-fn-lawman-50
For 45 Long Colt, I believe this cowboy ammo by Winchester will give you good, reliable performance: luckygunner.com/winchester-45-long-colt-ammo-for-sale-45lc255lrnwinsx-20. That's a lead round nose bullet which is better suited for self-defense than an FMJ/TMJ as well.

A: Hello Owen! I went right to the source and asked Hornady your question, and they confirmed that this ammo will indeed work with your Mossberg Youth 510 with a modified choke.

A: Hi Jerry. Thanks for looking to LuckyGunner.com for your ammo needs. While these rounds are designed for optimal performance out of revolvers, they will work out of any .410 shotgun but, the reviews for these out of a full shotgun with a smooth bore are mixed with some doing well and other reports to the contrary. Give us a shout and we can help you pick the best round for you. Ross

A: Hi Timothy. Those Triple Defense Hornadys will work well in your Governor. We hear from a lot of our customers that tell us this is their favorite round for the gun. Give us a call and we can get some on the way to you!
