You’ll never catch Winchester disparaging the little shell. They’re too busy producing high-quality ammo for discerning American sportsmen, as evidenced by these Super Sport Target Loads.
This shell overcomes challenges with the power of its half-ounce column of #8.5 lead shot. Each pellet is 0.085” in diameter and approximately 0.97 grains in weight; there are 225 of them to a half ounce. The pellets are also high in antimony: 6%, which helps them avoid deformation under pressure so as to promote the tightest patterning possible. Winchester’s own AA wad does a great deal more to narrow down the diameter of the pellets’ spread.
Handloading your own 410 Bore ammo? Winchester AA shells are up to the task, as they have the high-strength hulls and brass heads which work best on a Lee Precision or RCBS or whichever other kind of press you’re operating.
