This 40 S&W round’s 180 grain bullet won’t be thwarted by your common urban barrier. Its alloyed lead core has been permanently fused to its jacket via an electrochemical reaction, making the two all but inseparable. As the Gold Dot bullet plunges into its target, it holds on to the heft it needs to penetrate deeply to where the vital organs lie.
But the Gold Dot doesn’t rely on indomitability alone to neutralize a threat. Its hollow point nose cavity is formed via two consecutive die presses rather than merely drilled out, which precisely controls both the width it can expand to and the rate at which it can expand. The result is intensely reliable expansion, made even more potent by over 400 ft lbs of muzzle energy.
This showstopper of a bullet has only the best components to back up its performance. CCI’s own totally dependable primer creates ignition, and a charge of clean burning propellant translates that into a consistent muzzle velocity. This round’s newly minted brass is plated with nickel to enhance the ease with which it feeds, chambers, and extracts, and further combats corrosion that could inhibit reliable performance.
