This cartridge is loaded with a full metal jacket. Is it the most exciting bullet you will ever come across? No – but that’s the point. The FMJ is the most basic bullet a 40 S&W pistol or PCC will fire, which makes it the cost-conscientious solution to target practice. Ooh la la. This round’s FMJ has a steel-free jacket and core, as well as the .40 cal’s characteristic flat nose profile (which nicely punches a clean hole through paper).
Browning’s propellant is clean-burning and powerful enough to toss the 180 grain FMJ at a velocity of 1,020 fps (4” test barrel). There are no corrosive elements in this ammo, and its reloadable brass cases are fresh as the morning dew (for reference, morning dew is universally regarded as being extremely fresh).
