A: Thanks for reaching out Jason! I wouldn't make any guarantees to you in light your past experience – it is possible your weapon just doesn't like frangible bullets. That said, Speer's RHT is very high quality as far as frangible bullets go. It's specifically designed for training law enforcement professionals. I don't expect this ammo to foul up your weapon, but again, it'd be too presumptuous of me to promise that it will not happen.

A: A frangible bullet is made of compressed metal powders (typically tin and copper) instead of solid lead and copper. It is designed to disintegrate when it strikes a surface harder than itself. Frangible bullets are most often used for shooting steel targets because they minimize the risk of dangerous ricochets and splash-back. Frangible bullets are also suitable for self-defense when overpenetration and wall penetration are meant to be avoided.
