Federal offers their American Eagle line of ammunition to the shooting enthusiast who demands no less than the best when they train and plink, but who wouldn’t like to go broke as the result of their lofty expectations. This 40 S&W cartridge has a factory fresh brass casing with highly uniform dimensions, so a malformation won’t trip up feeding or ejection. Along with its non-corrosive Boxer primer this round is ideal for handloading, and its propellant won’t leave behind residues that would have gradually eaten away at your action and bore.

This round has a 180 grain projectile, so it will perform more or less identically to the 40 S&W cartridges with which you’re likely best accustomed. The bullet’s full metal jacket further makes feeding in a semi-automatic a sure thing, and also prevents lead fouling within the bore and facilitates penetration through tougher targets as well. Note that this bullet’s ability to pierce targets so effectively makes it less than optimal for self-defense.
