Additional Resources
This round’s 95 grain bullet is loaded to depart from a Glock 42’s 3.25” barrel at 1,000 fps. If you have a Beretta Pico or other handgun with a 2.7” barrel, you can expect that rate to drop by about 25 fps. In any event you’ll still deal around 200 ft lbs of muzzle energy. That’s effective for self-defense with correct shot placement – or multiple shot placements.
This round makes efficient use of its available energy thanks to its Controlled Expansion jacketed hollow point projectile. It’s a bullet optimized to deliver superior penetration, weight retention and expansion even in spite of the 380 ACP’s power handicap!
DoubleTap loads this ammo with specially formulated propellant to reduce muzzle flash. That’s a great advantage in the dark, as your first shot won’t instantly throw out your night vision and leave you temporarily blinded. DoubleTap also loads brass cases and dependable primers so you can trust the contents of your magazine if you’re ever in a bind.
