This 38 Special +P cartridge from Federal’s Personal Defense Micro line of ammunition features a 130 grain HST jacketed hollow point projectile. The bullet’s jacket and core are held together mechanically via a sturdy cannelure in its shank, which virtually eliminates separation as the bullet passes through a variety of tough barriers. It additionally features both internal and external skives, which help to prevent deformation of the bullet when it is fired. Because it is designed not to over-penetrate, this round’s bullet is an exceptional choice for self-defense where bystander safety is indispensable.

This cartridge’s bullet nose profile and nickel plated brass casing work in conjunction to assure reliable feeding, which is of great value in high stakes situations. Its propellant is designed to produce a low flash, so you can make accurate follow-shots in dark environments. Finally, this round’s low recoil suits it perfectly for use in smaller handguns, and further facilitates rapid fire.

Ballistics Test Summary

We test fired five rounds of .38 Special Federal 130 gr HST Micro into synthetic ballistic gelatin to observe its expansion and penetration characteristics. The ammo was fired from a Kimber K6s pistol at a distance of 10 feet. A four-layer barrier of heavy fabric was placed in front of the gelatin to simulate clothing.

Pictured below is a high speed video that shows the bullet entering the gel at approximately 10,000 frames per second. Q: Will Federal (you) be offering these in 50 round boxes ? And from you for less than 90 cents a round ?

We will not know the cost to you for these until they are in stock and WE know the cost to us. Keep an eye on the product. As soon as it does get here in the 50 round box, you will see it listed here at the best price we can offer.
