This 375 Remington Ultra Magnum round is loaded with the 270 grain LRX. The monolithic bullet is precision machined from bar stock, which alongside its sleek polymer tip and long boat tail gives it excellent balance and ballistic efficiency (0.449 G1 BC ). The LRX keeps a flat trajectory and as it resists wind deflection, and also plows into a 500-yard target with 2,440 ft lbs of energy. That’s still commanding energy as far as medium-sized is concerned, and suitable for taking larger game as well.
The LRX saves its best trick for last. Impact triggers massive expansion, which in the monolithic bullet’s case takes the form of four edged cutting petals splaying outward in an X-pattern. Better yet, the LRX’s lack of a core and jacket helps it retain the momentum it needs to cut a track all the way to the boiler room.
As a finishing touch, Barnes loads VOR-TX LR ammo with nickel-plated cases. These are still reloadable, but also smoother-feeding and resistant to moisture corrosion. It’s all made in Utah so you can bag any critter that overlaps with your crosshairs!
