This is Federal’s simplest 360 BHMR hunting cartridge, but it’ll do wonders for any hunter who’s worth their salt. The round’s 200 grain bullet has a 0.181 G1 ballistic coefficient – not terribly high as far as rifle rounds go, but plenty streamlined enough to conserve just shy of 900 ft lbs of energy at 200 yards. Zero in at 100 yards through 1.5” high sights, and drop at 200 will be roughly -9.7”.
This round’s jacketed soft point isn’t too technologically sophisticated, but what it has got is a tried-and-true design. Its copper jacket holds the bullet together so it can pass deeply into its target. Its lead tip enables the bullet to inflict more damage as it spreads outward in soft tissue. All that and a reloadable brass case – wow! Go donate your hammer to Goodwill. You don’t need it anymore!
