A: Hi Alan! As a matter of fact we have tested this ammo (SKU 23917GD). You can take a look at our data right here:

I can't speak to any report that this ammo is failing gel tests. Our own results painted a sunny picture. Perhaps SIG made a bad batch?

A: Absolutely! This cartridge's muzzle velocity should only grow faster with a longer pistol barrel.

A: Thanks for contacting us today regarding the listed muzzle velocity of the 357 Mag - 135 gr JHP - Speer Gold Dot - Short Barrel. You raise a good question. The difference between the median velocity in our testing and the rated velocity is only 85 FPS - a variation of less than 10%. This could be accounted for by variations in chronograph calibration as well as variations in the loads themselves. A 10% departure - up or down - from the velocity listed on the box would not be unusual at all.
