Do you want simple, dependable hollow point ammunition for your 357 Mag? This ammo by Federal will serve any revolver handsomely, and its bullet’s broad nose profile makes it a safe choice for hunting with a lever-action rifle as well.

The ballistics are solid for this round’s lightweight 110 grain bullet. At 1,300 fps out of a revolver’s 4” barrel, the bullet exhibits a ballistic coefficient of 0.109. At 50 yards it should have dropped by only about 0.8”, at which point it will be traveling at 1,090 fps. This lets it transfer 290 ft lbs on impact at 50 yards, which is still ample for personal protection. At close range you’re looking at closer to 400 ft lbs, which will overwhelm even the most frenzied assailant.

The Hi-Shok is Federal’s more cost-effective handgun bullet for self-defense. The jacketed hollow point lacks the center post in its nose cavity that makes Federal’s Hydra-Shok so distinctive, but it still delivers fast, positive expansion within soft tissue to register a debilitating wound cavity.

This round’s non-corrosive primer and clean burning propellant mitigate fouling within a firearm, and its new production brass case deserves its place at your reloading station.
