So would any hog, deer, or elk – and not just because it’s a 338 Win Mag, which can blow a hole the size of a manhole cover through its target (admittedly a slight exaggeration; let us have some fun, please). This is Barnes’ VOR-TX hunting load, featuring the one and only tipped Triple-Shock X boat tail bullet!
The TTSX BT doesn’t play fair. Its all-copper construction and Accu-Groove shank both minimize fouling to help maintain a rifle’s accuracy. Its sleek profile, boat tail and streamlined polymer tip allow it to fly flat and conserve commanding energy downrange. At 0.482, the 210 grain TTSX BT’s G1 BC means that it’s due to arrive at 300 yards with just shy of 2,500 ft lbs of energy (noting that Barnes took this round’s MV and BC with a 24” test barrel).
And then there’s the terminal performance. The tip presses all the way into the TTSX BT’s deep nose cavity, thus causing it to curl four long, sharp cutting petals outward at high speed. Shocking energy delivery. Wide wound canal. Instant KO on any large game (with good shot placement, as always).
