Technically speaking, the 32 H&R Magnum is not a cowboy cartridge. We’re not saying that cowboys stopped existing by 1984, which is when the 32 Magnum was first unveiled. We’re just pointing out that the 32 Mag most certainly did not play a role at the O.K. Corral.
But you know what? Who cares. If you want to do a little cowboy action with your 32 Mag revolver, then you deserve to do it with some of the best ammunition. Black Hills of South Dakota loads this round with a classic 90 grain lead flat nose (aka flat point lead, or FPL) projectile. It has the nose profile that works best on steel silhouettes. It also doesn’t contain any brittle copper that could ricochet back toward the firing line. And because this round’s muzzle velocity is unusually low at 750 fps (out of a 5.5” test barrel), you’re going to notice truly gentle recoil. Perfect for when you’re trying to empty out a cylinder lickety-split!
This is modern ammo in all the right ways. Its brass cases are brand new and reloadable. Its Boxer primers are incapable of corrosion. Its propellant is smokeless, so you won’t be enveloped in fumes while you’re firing away.
