According to Prvi Partizan, this cartridge’s 180 grain projectile produces a 2,542 fps muzzle velocity out of a 24” barrel. Its 0.407 G1 ballistic coefficient (0.205 G7) means that it will retain at least 1,500 ft lbs of elk-toppling kinetic energy until approximately 303 yards, or 1,000 ft lbs of whitetail-thwacking energy until 510 yards. Not too shabby!
The bullet itself only makes matters worse for the quarry. When the soft point makes contact, its tough copper-alloy jacket ensures it conserves enough momentum to bore deeply into the target. While it is penetrating, the soft point will broaden in diameter and tumble about to produce a debilitating wound channel. With good aim, this is a one and done solution to taking all kinds of North American game.
Prvi Partizan’s nonmagnetic bullets make this ammo just as suitable for range training as it is hunting, and their brand new noncorrosive Boxer-primed brass cases are often favored by handloading enthusiasts.
