Why was Hornady Match named the official ammunition of the Precision Rifle Series’ 2023 season? Partly because Hornady sponsored the PRS, although we suspect the organization would have shot down a lesser ammunition manufacturer if they asked for that particular title. Gotta associate with the best!

This Match series 308 Win ammo won’t take you to far away places – but it will deliver its bullets there with startling accuracy. This round’s 178 grain bullet is a heavyweight, with a low muzzle velocity (2,600 fps out of a 24” barrel) and low vulnerability to wind drift because of it. Zero in at 200 yards when a 10 mph wind is blowing at a 90° angle, and you can expect only 2.8” windage.

And the bullet isn’t just wind resistant. Trajectory to 200 yards should only rise by about 2.25” (assuming your sights are set 1.5” high) and drop at 300 yards would measure in the ballpark of -8.9”. It’s all thanks to the 0.530 G1 BC boat tail hollow point match bullet’s superior ability to overcome drag and frontal air resistance! Just take care that the BTHP is not intended to be used for hunting. Despite what its outward appearance suggests, it’s not built for terminal expansion.

Specially selected cases. Carefully matched propellant. Hornady’s strictest quality assurance protocol. All of these things make a Hornady Match a Hornady Match. Order a few boxes even if you have no intention of entering the Precision Rifle Series – you deserve to see how well you can really shoot!
