The Tipped MatchKing (TMK) has all of its predecessor’s accuracy-enhancing features including an exacting jacket concentricity standard of ±0.0003, weight standard of ±0.03 grains, and sleek profile that ends in a long boat tail. The TMK boasts an even more ballistically efficient shape courtesy of its sharp acetyl resin tip, as well as slight overall improvements to its ogive dimensions.
The proof is in the pudding. According to Black Hills, this cartridge achieves a staggeringly high G1 BC of 0.545, which will treat you to some of the flattest, most predictable trajectories you’ve ever seen out of your 308 rifle. (That’s a G7 BC of approximately 0.290 by our own measure.)
Please be sure that the TMK is not a hunting bullet. Its polymer tip serves only to streamline the bullet, not to make its terminal ballistics deadlier than those of a standard FMJ.
Their Gold label ammo receives the best match grade brass, primers and propellant that Black Hills can load. These rounds are all subjected to intense inspection before they’re boxed up at the factory.
