The HPBT is indeed a hollow point bullet – but it’s not like the kind of JHP you’d find on a 9mm load. The HPBT’s nose cavity will not produce terminal expansion. Impact alone would be enough to kill small game, but the HPBT just doesn’t perform optimally for deer/hog hunting.
The HPBT is all about accuracy. Its nose cavity exists because molten lead was inserted through it, thus allowing the core to harden in place. It is uniformly distributed as a result. The HPBT additionally features a thin and concentric jacket, a drag-reducing tapered base, and a fully jacketed base which preserves accuracy by preventing deformation in the barrel. An effective and proven system!
American Quality Ammunition loads noncorrosive Boxer primers and new brass cases. The cases were not previously fired. Their necks are gray because the brass was heat-treated for added toughness.
