Nothing unusual going on under this round’s hood. It’s charged up with a 150 grain soft point, which departs from a 24” barrel’s muzzle at a velocity of ~2,810 fps. The sleek little lead-core projectile’s ~0.310 G1 BC will let you zero in at 200 yards and let loose a trajectory that rises ~2.1” over the bore line before hitting with ~1,680 ft lbs of energy. That’s assuming your sights are 1.5” high; real world results invariably vary!
The soft point takes a straightforward approach to deadly terminal ballistics. Its nonferrous copper-alloy jacket spares the SP from excessive fragmentation. Its nude lead tip enables the SP to spread outward, thereby transferring more energy and scraping out a broader wound channel in the process. This ammo is brass cased and noncorrosive – and reloadable to boot!
