This 308 Win cartridge from SIG Sauer’s Elite Copper Hunting line of ammunition is rigged out with a 150 grain solid hopper hollow point bullet. A smart choice for hunting bucks and hogs even in areas where lead bullets are legal, this round would also ready any AR-10 for home defense.

Loaded to a muzzle velocity of 2,900 fps, this round’s sleek, balanced bullet retains the momentum it needs to plow into a target with over 1,000 ft lbs of energy up until around 570 yards. The monolithic bullet retains well over 90 percent of its weight as it resists splintering apart inside of tough game, allowing it to penetrate deeply over a wide range of terminal velocities. But that’s not the worst of it as far as game animals are concerned – this hollow point bullet also consistently expands to 1.8 times its original diameter! No amount of adrenaline can help your quarry to bound away after taking so serious an injury.

An Elite Copper Hunting round also features a nickel-plated case. This reduces friction in a semi-auto to assist with more reliable feeding and extraction, prevents insidious corrosion, and even makes the cartridge easier to spot when it’s dark outside.
