MAXXTech’s brass-cased ammunition is made in Bosnia. Their Essential Steel series 308 Win ammunition, on the other hand, is made at the Tula Cartridge Plant in Tula, Russia. This ammo’s headstamps read “Tulammo,” so the only difference is the packaging.

Why choose steel-cased ammunition for target shooting? Because it is cheaper, of course! This ammo’s steel cases are significantly less expensive to manufacture than conventional brass ones, and you’re going to see that fact soundly reflected by MAXXTech Essential Steel ammo’s price tag. Steel’s greater rigidity does have two downsides, however: steel cases aren’t reloadable, and they also don’t seal the chamber as effectively during ignition (which accelerates fouling of the action).

This ammo is loaded with 150 grain full metal jacket projectiles. The FMJ looks normal enough, but beneath its bi-metal jacket’s thin copper-washed exterior sits a layer of soft steel. Steel makes the lead-core bullet cheaper – but it also makes it capable of attracting a magnet. Take caution before you order this ammo, because some ranges do not allow magnetic ammo!

This ammo is noncorrosive.
