It’s quite fitting that the 300 HAM’R is perfect for hunting hogs, which contain ham. But you’ll also find this ammo by Wilson Combat is excellent for bagging deer and black bear (and God help the poor wretch who breaks into your house while you’ve got immediate access to this ammo – and God help your ears if you fire it indoors, too).
This cartridge’s 130 grain bullet hits a muzzle velocity of 2,500 fps, assuming your barrel is 18” long (Wilson Combat estimates that muzzle velocity will rise or fall by 25 to 35 fps per inch of barrel). The bullet is a soft point, with a smooth-feeding and hard-hitting round nose profile which yields to produce wide expansion upon meeting resistance from soft tissue. And thanks to its tough jacket, the bullet excels at remaining intact and retaining momentum during penetration. That’s key to a deep wound cavity!
Wilson Combat’s American-made ammunition is loaded with premium brass cases, as well as carefully matched Boxer primers and clean-burning propellant charges to promote consistent cycling, recoil and ballistic performance.
