This 300 AAC Blackout cartridge features a muzzle velocity of 1,050 fps, which is 75 fps less than what it would take to break the sound barrier. Because it doesn’t create a supersonic “crack,” this cartridge is relatively more quiet to fire than other comparable rounds in its caliber, and even more so when utilized in conjunction with a suppressor.
