This round’s bullet is a beefy little specimen at 200 grains. It’ll definitely build up enough pressure to cycle a semi-auto, and it is also certain to clear muzzle at a velocity beneath the speed of sound. “Pff” – quiet.
The open tip bullet will not deliver terminal expansion! Its built for accuracy, and only has a nose cavity because its core was poured into its jacket so it could settle in place, nice and even like. A 200 grain open tip will definitely filet any varmint’s mackerel, but we could name better types of projectiles for home defense or deer hunting.
Do you want reloadable brass cases? Do you refuse to let a corrosive primer anywhere near your rifle? Do you like buying American? Then Winchester’s fine USA label 300 BO ammo will give you nothing to complain about.
