Are you trying to remove the lead from your 300 AAC Blackout varmint hunting experience? It’s easy! All you need is a box or six of Hornady BLACK ammunition, which is loaded with the old Nebraskan authority’s state-of-the-art NTX projectiles!

This cartridge’s 110 grain bullet has a copper AMP jacket: concentric and thin, and accordingly equipped for superior in-flight rotational stability and rapid terminal fragmentation, respectively. The NTX’s core is made of frangible copper alloy, which makes it perfectly devoid of toxic lead. The NTX’s polymer tip streamlines its frontal profile to promote better accuracy. Once impact drives it into the underlying frangible core, the NTX’s tip initiates near-instantaneous explosive expansion.

Hornady recorded this round’s supersonic 2,070 fps muzzle velocity with a 16” test barrel. We calculate its G1 ballistic coefficient at 0.272, which spells a truly flat close-to-mid range trajectory and around 580 ft lbs striking energy at 200 yards.

BLACK series ammunition is designed to behave flawlessly in all rifles, regardless of their firing mechanisms or barrel lengths. And while this ammo’s bullets may be special lead-free specimens, its new brass cases are Hornady’s usual fine reloadable work.
