This round’s soft point bullet is specially designed to maximize terminal performance out of a lever-action rifle. It undergoes expansion reliably within 200 yards, which is exactly the range most 30-30 hunters limit their shots within. And because the 150 grain .30 cal bullet is bonded, it reliably conserves enough momentum to poke its way clean to a buck’s heart or lungs. Naturally, the bullet has the flat profile it needs to rest safely in a tubular magazine. It’s also relatively flat-shooting thanks to its superior jacket concentricity, with a 0.268 G1 ballistic coefficient that secures -6.5” drop at 200 yards after passing a 100-yard zip.
This ammo’s brass cases really shine in lever guns – literally, because they are plated with corrosion-resistant and friction-reducing nickel. The cases are also specially chamfered to ensure the smoothest possible feeding, regardless of whether said feeding is taking place in the magazine or at the side gate.
