This 30-06 Springfield cartridge features the Scirocco Bonded by Swift of Quinter, Kansas. It is an accurate 180 grain bullet, with a polymer tip, secant ogive profile and boat tail that streamline its profile and a long driving band that enhances its rotational stability. The 0.500 G1 ballistic coefficient bullet rises by only 2.75” before reaching a 200-yard target, conserves at least 1,000 ft lbs of energy (the minimum advised for harvesting whitetail) until 715 yards, and stays supersonic until 1,168 yards.
Swift’s proprietary bonding technology gives the Scirocco excellent weight retention: at least 75%, no matter what. While the bullet deeply penetrates its target, its polymer tip and progressively tapered jacket both work toward creating fast, wide and thoroughly deleterious terminal expansion. The Scirocco’s thin jacket mouth assures reliable expansion following relatively low impact velocities, thus making this a true long-range hunting round.
Remington honors Swift’s impressive feat of engineering by seating it in a high-grade brass case, with a reliable primer and propellant charge just behind it.
