This round’s 180 grain projectile has a 0.452 G1 ballistic coefficient. That is the math nerd way of saying that it will retain over 1,500 ft lbs of energy until almost 400 yards, and also that it drops -8.7” at 300 yards after having soared through a 200-yard zero.
The InterLock’s jacket is embedded into its one-piece lead core in two separate places: the mid-body cannelure, and the InterLock ring just behind it. These features put a stop to excessive fragmentation following impact, which in turn promotes deeper and altogether more ruinous penetration. The InterLock’s tapered and strategically grooved jacket fans out to promote wider terminal expansion even over longer ranges. No deer will be safe from your rifle.
Hornady loads this ammo’s propellant to deliver a steady ~2,700 fps muzzle velocity out of a 24” barrel. Their high-quality cases and primers only assure even more reliable performance in all rifles (although we don’t recommend this ammo for M1 Garands).
