A: Thanks for reaching out David! Federal Premium would only tell me that this round's maximum pressure is 60,000 psi, which obviously doesn't tell you very much. Ammo manufacturers do not disclose which type of propellant they load. They consider it proprietary information, and they may also use different types of propellant in the same ammunition depending on what's available to them. This cartridge may theoretically be safe for an M1 Garand, but as a rule I strictly recommend 30-06 that's loaded to M2 Ball specifications. This ammo is not, so I can not in good conscience potentially put your rifle's operating rod at risk by recommending it.
