This cartridge’s bullet is a 140 grain Controlled Expansion Tip: inky and beautiful thanks to its black oxide coating, which helps reduce the amount of copper fouling that accumulates on the rifling. In addition to keeping the bore cleaner, the Controlled Expansion Tip delivers big time accuracy thanks to its boat tail, and of course its streamlined polymer tip. Once it reaches its advertised muzzle velocity of 2,950 fps, the 0.508 G1 BC projectile is all set to punch a 200-yard zip with over 2,000 ft lbs of kinetic energy – and then drop around -6.7” once it reaches 300.
The Controlled Expansion Tip lives up to its name. The concentric copper jacket surrounding the polymer-tipped bullet's nose cavity doles out wide expansion at an even rate, so you can rest assured you’re delivering a deadly enough blow to end the hunt in a heartbeat.
This ammo is loaded with brass cases (no nickel plating), with Sig’s custom-formulated temperature-stable propellant and industry-leading Boxer primer to get the show started.
