These .260 Remington rounds come equipped with Hornady SST projectiles which weigh in at 129 grains each; this is the perfect weight for dropping heavy elk, feral hogs, and 8-point bucks with extreme efficiency. The SST, or Super Shock Tip, features a secant ogive, pointed polymer windshield, and tapered boat tail rear which produces fine accuracy at long range. In addition, the SST has a hollow cavity beneath its plastic point which reliable creates massive expansion during entry into a target; this mushrooming is halted by the bullet's accuracy-preserving cannelure and interlock ring which prevent jacket separation in order to achieve appropriate penetration.

The SST projectile is crimped into a reloadable brass casing that is equipped with a clean-igniting Boxer primer. As part of Hornady's Superformance lineup, these rounds feature a specialized propellant formula which achieves greater velocities than typical cartridges of the same caliber. As a result, Superformance ammo reaches farther while maintaining useful energy. Hornady has been around since 1949 and is recognized as reliable source of innovative bullet designs and ammo of consistent quality.
