Hornady Superformance series ammunition is like a prune juice shooter for your rifle. Thanks to Hornady’s specially formulated propellant, this ammo will boost your 243 Win rifle’s muzzle velocity by as much as 200 fps – without creating added muzzle blast, recoil or chamber pressure.
This round’s Super Shock Tip bullet is purpose built for deer. The SST’s jacket is doubly embedded into its lead core by a mid-body cannelure and an InterLock ring, which ensures the bullet remains intact enough to punch a clean path straight to the vital organs. The SST’s rigid polymer tip wedges into the core throughout penetration to unleash fast yet uniform terminal expansion.
The SST’s aerodynamic tip, secant ogive geometry, optimized bearing surface and boat tail all help it conserve velocity as it speeds downrange. Upon attaining a 3,185 fps muzzle velocity (24” bbl), the 0.355 G1 BC SST can reach 200 yards without having to rise higher than 1.4” (assuming 1.5” sight height). Striking energy is over 1,000 ft lbs within 397 yards!
