Varmint hunting ranks right up there among the most serious kinds of business. “Varmageddon” may be a funny name, but Nosler didn’t pull any punches when they designed this 243 Win round. It’s a varmint hunter’s dream – and his prey’s worst nightmare.

This round’s bullet deals in bench rest accuracy. Its base is perfectly flat to provide a uniform surface against which propellant gasses can exert their energy. Its metallic polymer tip creates a streamlined meplat, and its jacket is as concentric as a respected American bullet manufacturer can accomplish. Its 0.255 ballistic coefficient is mighty high for a 55 grain bullet. That kind of in-flight performance lets a bullet cover the distance between A and B with barely any rise in trajectory, and punctuates with deadly energy at any point throughout the 243’s effective range.

Nosler’s flat base tipped bullet’s terminal ballistics are no laughing matter, either. The bullet’s jacket is extremely thin around its mouth and gradually thickens toward its base. As the metallic tip drives inward throughout penetration it unleashes uniform, progressive, and supremely lethal fragmentation. The little bullet positively unzips small game.

Nosler’s brass case is tapered according to exacting tolerances and smooth for reliable cycling. Once its non-corrosive primer and low residue propellant have burned away into oblivion you’ll definitely want to reload it – or save it for someone else who can!
