This round’s bullet is heavy. The 69 grain load’s muzzle velocity is about 350 fps slower than that of a more conventional 55 grain load, but a heavier bullet benefits accuracy by exhibiting much better resistance to wind drift.
The MatchKing itself is a hollow point boat tail, with the narrow nose profile, extremely smooth and concentric jacket, form-fitted lead core and low-drag boat tail base it needs to conserve as much momentum in flight as possible. Be sure that the MatchKing is not a hunting bullet; it cannot deliver terminal expansion.
Sierra assembles their components in Missouri and according to extremely high tolerances. Premium brass, match Boxer primers, and attentively measured propellant charges are to thank for this ammo’s pinpoint accuracy.
