A: Thanks for reaching out Wesley! Make no mistake: any 223 Rem cartridge is capable of instantly neutralizing a threat. That said, some are better designed for self-defense applications than others. You want a bullet that expands after striking soft tissue, as that will (A) inflict more damage to the target, and (B) reduce (but not eliminate) the risk of over-penetration that could harm innocent bystanders. The ammo you inquired about does have a hollow point bullet, albeit one that isn't designed for terminal expansion. If you see the word "match" in a cartridge's name, that means it is only designed for precision and accuracy – not self-defense. Also take note that the full metal jacket (FMJ) is not considered an ideal bullet for personal protection. Allow me to recommend this police-grade ammunition: https://www.luckygunner.com/223-rem-55-grain-sp-federal-le-tactical-20-rounds. It's available for sale to the general public, and its Hi-Shok soft point (SP) bullet is designed to deliver the terminal expansion you want for personal protection.
