From our friends over at Century Arms comes this box of 223 Rem cartridges, perfect for when you want to shoot on a budget but still enjoy fine quality. Red Army Standard ammunition is made in Russia at the Tula Cartridge Plant, and Russians, as we all know, love their steel casings, which drive costs down handsomely. This ammo is also Berdan primed, another cost saving feature, so while it’s theoretically reloadable you’d have to be either (A) a masochist or (B) in a Mad Max-type setting to bother.

This cartridge’s steel casing is coated in a thin layer of polymer, which will reduce metal-on-metal friction in your AR to promote more efficient cycling as well as protect against rust. This round sports its caliber’s standard 55 grain full metal jacket projectile. No fancy terminal performance, which isn’t to say it’s terminal performance you’d sign up to have take place in your own body.
