Hornady’s Tactical Action Police line of ammunition is exactly what you imagine: specifically designed for law enforcement applications. But not all LE ammo is meant for enforcing the law. TAP Training 223 Rem ammo delivers virtually identical performance to Hornady’s analogous TAP Urban ammo, so cops can master their rifles without squandering their precincts’ ammo budgets on expensive duty loads!

Not a cop? Not a problem! Hornady did intend this ammo for the LE market, but there’s no reason regular Joes aren’t allowed to own or fire it. The 55 grain full metal jacket projectile features a cannelure to preserve seating depth, a boat tail to minimize in-flight drag, and a solid lead core and gilding metal jacket that can’t attract a magnet. Once the 0.243 G1 ballistic coefficient projectile establishes a muzzle velocity of 3,240 fps (24” test barrel), it’ll only drop -2.9” at 200 yards after reaching a 100-yard zero.

This ammunition is loaded with brand new brass cases. They are reloadable, but they aren’t reloaded – the cases’ necks remained unpolished after they were annealed for added toughness. Hornady’s noncorrosive Boxer primers spark up low-flash propellant, which will help to conserve your eyesight’s acclimation to the dark while you’re training at dusk or nighttime!
